Senior Lodge Anchor / Assistant Lodge Manager
We are looking for an individual with a comprehensive understanding of luxury lodge operations who can confidently move between departments, provide leadership where required and strengthen the overall guest experience.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the management team and should be capable of supporting and relieving departmental heads during their off cycles, including:
- Front Office
- Guest Relations
- Food & Beverage
- Kitchen Operations
- Housekeeping
- Procurement and Stores
- Venues and Special Events
A strong Food & Beverage background is essential, as maintaining and enhancing our dining experience is a major focus within the operation.
Equally important is a passion for hospitality and guest interaction. We are looking for someone who enjoys hosting guests, identifying opportunities to elevate service standards and continuously improving every aspect of the guest journey.
The ideal candidate should be:
- Operationally strong across multiple lodge departments.
- Have a strong Food & Beverage background with the ability to enhance the guest dining experience.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on management environment.
- Highly organised with excellent administrative skills.
- A natural leader capable of mentoring, developing and motivating staff.
- Confident making operational decisions independently.
- Guest-focused with exceptional communication and hosting skills.
- Adaptable, proactive and eager to learn.
- Passionate about creating memorable luxury safari experiences.
- Strong Human Resources (HR) and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) knowledge would be highly beneficial, with the ability to support staff management, compliance, training and workplace safety initiatives across the operation.
This is not simply a relief management position. It is an opportunity to become part of the leadership team, working alongside the General Manager to continuously refine systems, improve standards and develop the lodge into one of the leading safari experiences within the Sabi Sand.
Working Conditions
- Live-in position at Arathusa Safari Lodge.
- 3 weeks on / 1 week off work cycle.
