Junior Sales Executive

Main Functions:

To achieve the Company’s objectives and Revenue Budgets by sourcing, securing and servicing business from key accounts, new business prospecting as well as from past and current clients.

Support sales activities, participate in planning and executing robust sales strategies to grow MPI across all market segments to achieve budgetary goals.

Drive both rooms and banqueting revenue for the hotel by maintaining predetermined accounts as well as proactively prospecting for new business ensuring sales targets and budgets are met.

Works alongside the co-ordinator to oversee a number of event bookings yourself.

Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).

Responsible for event management process from conception to post event meeting.

Conducting sales calls on key accounts/prospects and preparing sales reports on these calls.

Execute and upholds the brands service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process

In conjunction with the Sales Team prepares and maintain promotional public and guest relations activities.

Supports the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.

Assist the Sales Executive in developing and co-ordinating programmes relating to advertising, sales promotions and public relations, regular market intelligence on the competitor activity and rates and support the coordination of planning key account functions- hosting trade shows such as Meetings Africa, hosting events such as lunches and site visits, focus group sessions as well as any other client functions to create awareness of product offering

Building Successful Relationships by Working collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Group Sales with the Sales Office, Area Sales, Global Sales Organization (GSO), etc.) to verify the property needs are being achieved.

  • Excellent organizational/administrative skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiative
  • Ability to appreciate “the big picture”, whilst having a talent for detail & an inherent thoroughness in task

approach, follow-up & completion

  • Strong writing skills with excellent spelling & grammar, proficient in writing, speaking and negotiating in English.
  • Excellent computer skills – sound knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, email,

internet & intranet systems.

  • Must have experience in hotel, travel & tourism, service sector
  • Ability to inspire confidence & gain credibility with people on all levels
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality at all times
  • High degree of personal loyalty & integrity
  • Team player – with a sense of humour even in the face of adversity!
  • Bachelor degree required, additional education in sales and marketing fields preferred.
  • At least 2 years Sales experience in a similar position.

Salary R 25 000.
